Privacy policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Nnoboa collects, why, who it is shared with, and your rights. It applies to our website and our Android app. We follow Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
Who we are
Nnoboa is operated by [NNOBOA], [TEPA - ASHANTI], Ghana. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Data Protection Commission registration number: [NUMBER]. You can contact us at hello@nnoboa.com or 054 226 4324.
What we collect
Everyone with an account: your name, phone number, email address (optional), password (stored only as a one-way hash), and the town you choose.
Customers: the requests you send (description, preferred date and time, photos you attach), bookings, job codes, payment records you add (“I have paid”), reviews and any problems you report.
Professionals: your business details, services and prices, areas you serve, profile and work photos, availability, verification documents (such as a Ghana Card, business registration or certificates), Mobile Money details if you add them (number, network and account name), job check-ins, arrival times and job photos, and payments you make to us.
Staff: name, contact details, role and a record of actions taken in the admin area.
Automatically: basic security and activity records, such as IP address, browser or app version, login times, how many times a profile is viewed, and taps on Call and WhatsApp buttons. In the app we also keep a notification token so we can send you alerts.
We do not collect your precise GPS location. We do not use your data for advertising.
App permissions
The Android app asks for: camera and photos, only when you choose to add a photo or document; and notifications, to tell you about requests, quotes, bookings and reviews. You can refuse or turn these off in your phone’s settings; the app still works, but you will not get alerts or be able to add photos.
Why we use it
- To run your account and the service: searching, requests, quotes, bookings, job tracking, reviews and support (needed to provide the service you asked for).
- To confirm phone numbers and verify professionals, and to prevent fraud and misuse (our legitimate interest in keeping the platform safe).
- To send you messages about your account and jobs by SMS, email and app notification, including reminders and monthly activity summaries for professionals.
- To process payments professionals make to us for plans and other features, and to keep financial records (legal obligations).
- To handle complaints and disputes, using the job timeline, codes and photos.
- To understand how the service is used and improve it, using counts rather than individual tracking where possible.
Who can see your data
- The public: a professional’s public profile (business name, services, prices, photos, town, reviews, badges and, depending on their plan, phone and WhatsApp).
- The other person on a job: when you send a request or book, the professional sees your name, phone number and the details you provided; you see the professional’s contact details and, if they added them, their Mobile Money details.
- Our team: staff see only what their role requires. Verification documents are seen only by staff who check them.
- Service providers who work for us, only to provide their service:
- Hostinger (website and database hosting)
- Paystack (payments for plans and features; we never see or store card numbers or Mobile Money PINs)
- Africa’s Talking or Arkesel (sending SMS)
- Google Firebase (app notifications)
- our email provider (account emails)
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
We do not sell your personal data. Payments between customers and professionals are made directly between them; Nnoboa only records what you tell us.
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Ghana. We use providers with appropriate security and only share what each one needs.
How long we keep it
- Account details: while your account is open.
- Bookings, job records, payments and complaints: up to 6 years after the job, for disputes, accounting and legal reasons.
- Verification documents: while you are a professional on Nnoboa, and deleted when you close your account, unless we need them for an open dispute or legal reason.
- Login codes, password reset links and security records: deleted automatically after a short time; read notifications after 6 months.
When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data, except what we must keep for the reasons above. Published reviews may remain without your name.
Your rights
You can see and correct most of your data in your account, and delete your account in Account settings. You can also ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by contacting us. We will reply within 21 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana (dataprotection.org.gh).
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only as one-way hashes, keep verification documents and job photos private, limit staff access by role, and keep a record of admin actions. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and never share login codes.
Cookies
The website uses one essential cookie to keep you logged in and protect forms. If we turn on Google Analytics, it uses cookies to measure visits; we will update this policy when we do.
Children
Nnoboa is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. For important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email or SMS.
